How to Use Super-Strength Flavors in Baking and Frosting

LorAnn’s Super-Strength Flavors taste just as delicious in cakes, cookies, and frostings as they do in candy—and they deliver an intensity of flavor that traditional extracts can’t match. Often referred to as “candy oils,” these highly concentrated flavorings are 3 to 4 times stronger than standard baking extracts and can be used to add big flavor to baked goods, frostings, fillings, no-bake desserts, and more.

How to Use in Baking and Frosting Applications
As a general rule, if a recipe calls for 1 teaspoon of extract, use only ¼ to ½ teaspoon of a Super-Strength Flavor. This guideline applies to both baked goods and frostings.

For frosting specifically, start with ¼ teaspoon of flavor per cup of butter or shortening, and adjust to taste. These concentrated flavors blend especially well into buttercream and other fat-based frostings.

You can also combine a Super-Strength Flavor with vanilla extract to create a more layered and complex flavor profile—though this is optional, depending on your taste preference.
