How to Use LorAnn Flavor Fountain in Commercial Shake Machines

This recipe converts any LorAnn Flavor Fountain Flavors into a traditional syrup for shake machines.

Ingredients

6 pounds sugar
6 to 8 ounces Flavor Fountain Flavor
LorAnn's Preserve-It Mold Inhibitor (optional – see note below)

Directions
  1. Using a sanitized container with a known 1-gallon fill line (preferably stainless steel), add 6 to 8 ounces of LorAnn Flavor Fountain flavoring.
  2. Add 6 pounds of sugar.
  3. Add enough warm water to bring the entire mixture up to the 1-gallon fill-line.
  4. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Note: Without a preservative, an opened container of syrup made with Flavor Fountain should be used within about one week. Shelf life can be extended by adding LorAnn’s Preserve-It Mold Inhibitor (Item #6070). Use 3 teaspoons of mold inhibitor per finished gallon. The active ingredient is potassium sorbate. Even with a preservative, it’s best to use within 60–90 days.
